Privacy Policy

PilotMedMap is an independent, informational directory. This policy explains what limited data we collect when you visit, why, and the choices you have. In plain terms: we don’t require an account, we don’t sell your data, and we use analytics only to understand how the site is used in aggregate.
Information we collect
PilotMedMap does not have accounts, logins, or forms, so we do not ask you for personal information. We do collect limited technical and usage data automatically when you view a page:
- Usage analytics — pages visited, referring site, approximate location (country/region derived from your IP address, not stored as a precise address), device and browser type, and how you move through the site.
- Standard server logs — routine request data our hosting provider records to operate and secure the site.
We do not knowingly collect health information, medical records, or other sensitive personal data. Please do not send us any such information.
Analytics tools we use
We rely on two third-party analytics services:
- Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-focused and cookieless. It measures page views and visits without cookies and without collecting personally identifiable information.
- Google Analytics 4 — helps us understand traffic sources and which content is useful. Google Analytics may set cookies and processes data (including a truncated/approximate IP address) on our behalf. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not enable Google Advertising features or share this data for advertising.
Cookies
Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies to distinguish visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data. Blocking these does not affect your ability to use the site.
How we use the data
We use analytics data only to operate, secure, and improve the site — for example, to see which guides and provider pages are most useful and to fix problems. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make the site work — our hosting and analytics providers named above — who process it on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not otherwise sell, rent, or trade your information.
Third-party links
This site links to third-party websites, including providers’ own pages and the FAA. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their policies separately.
Data retention
Aggregate analytics data is retained by our analytics providers under their standard retention settings. We keep it only as long as it is useful for understanding and improving the site.
Your choices
You can limit collection at any time by using browser privacy settings, tracking-protection features, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data; because we do not maintain identifiable personal records about visitors, in most cases we have no such data tied to you.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience (pilots and aviation professionals) and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
